Would you recommend a Signal Booster or a Range Extender for my wifi network?
My router and modem is on one side of my house and my computer is on the other. I’ve noticed there are two different products, a “signal booster” which seems to connect to the router and a “range extender” that sits between the area I need more coverage in and the router. Any advice as to which product to go with? Any alternate solutions?

I’d first try http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/template/ If you have to buy anything, it shouldn’t cost more than a dollar or two (some Scotch tape), so if it doesn’t work, you’re not out much.
Then I’d try a repeater, placed midway between the router and the computer. (It’ll cut your speed, but your wifi speed is probably much faster than your internet connection, so that shouldn’t be a problem.)
The simplest solution, of course, is to move the modem and router to where the computer is. (It’s easier to extend phone lines or TV cable than it is to extend internet signals.)
