i have wireless Internet on my laptop through my desktop provided by linksys router.?
when i am out and about with my laptop i want to be able to pick up a wider (booster) range of wireless internet in the surrouning areas so i brought a linksys wireless-n USB Network Adapter model # WUSB300N. can someone please tell me if i brought the right thing?

If the laptop has a wireless card in it already you didn’t need anything. All you need is an OPEN router, such as a public hotspot at Macdonalds / starbucks, but these are not always free.
Using someone’s private router to use the internet is ILLEGAL even if it’s not secured, and people have been prosecuted for theft of telecommunications services now.
