How do I setup my Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander?

I have a Linksys Wireless-B router and a 2004-model Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander. When I try to setup the software on my Dell laptop says “site survey fail” to maintain and let me continue with the configuration. So I tried the auto configuration button on the expander, and both lights are blue, so it apparently works. But I still have low connectivity on my laptop and my ps3 cannot connect at all. Please let me know how I can change that. I can add details as needed.
