Review by Huh? Wha? http://www.amazon.com/hawking-hwdn1-hi-gain-wireless-300n-network/dp/b0015fgxzu 3fsubscriptionid 3d1j7v41r80bnb2tq4avg2% 26tag% 3dwhepowpro 26linkcode-20% 26camp% 3dxm2% 3d2025%%%% 3d165953 26creative 26creativeasin 3db0015fgxzu “rel =” nofollow “> Hawking Hi-Gain Wireless HWDN1-300N Dish USB Network Adapter Rating: I have been separated from my router temporarily, and had to deal with signal drops, slow speeds, etc.. . Well, I saw this product, and I thought it a try. I get my signal through a metal wall, and about 120-150 meters, so in all material respects, the drops and the signal is horrible par for the course.

I didn ‘ not really expecting miracles from this map. Maybe a little better speed, but I always thought that would happen drops. In fact, I was very shocked. Now I get 24% signal strength, which does not sound like much, but my connection speed has quadrupled, and I have not had a single drop.

    Advantages:
    1) Once you find the direction that you receive your signal and the point of the map in that direction, it will improve the strength of weak signal. At least with my experience.
    2) You can turn off your multi-directional integrated wireless on your laptop. This can generate lots of heat if you’re in an area of low signal your adapter is built in always looking for signals.
    3) The control panel for this card provides a wealth of information for people interested in the drops packets how they had, etc. .. and allows for some advanced configuration.
    4) The driver installation and software installation was a breeze.
    5) Works on Mac or Windows. I think it’s a pro, if you’re a Mac user. Have not seen anything on Linux drivers, but I am sure that drivers took someone for her.

    Disadvantages:
    1) Installation is a bit tedious. You must understand how to disable your built in adapter if you use a laptop, and various network attributes which characterize and identify the networks.
    2) It is not a multi adapter -directional. You need to know how your router and that is direction signal comes to you from. If you are leeches signal, it is probably not the # 1 choice for you, and you should not do that anyway. p = I do not expect to make multi-directional, so it was not a con for me, but I could see how the common expectation may encourage them not to be disappointed.
    3) The n is not so much a jerk, but a misunderstanding I’ve seen from people who do not understand wireless signals and their restrictions. This is not a miracle worker. You can not stay three miles of a router, go to 6 feet of solid steel, or anything else that no signal could reach you, and expect this adapter to work. Come on, it’s just silly.
    4) If you are using a multi-directional and the signal is actually rebounded to your computer from a different direction right from the router, you’ll need play with the direction of adapters a bit. See above (not an adapter multi-directional).

    Conclusion:
This is a great adapter if you know a little about wireless networks, how signals work, and read the product description before deciding this is a miracle worker. Are you going to buy this understanding exactly what you buy, and control to ensure that the right to buy you.

Personally, I had this for about four hours, and I love it. Normally, I’d spend my position trying to find a mobile signal, only to have it fall and I move my laptop ten times before my routers signal is strong enough to establish a connection.

I hope this helps someone thinking about purchasing this adapter, and either guide you decide that this is the card for you or keep you from buying this product and giving another big bad criticism.

current OS: Windows Vista 64-bit SP 1. (I read on some driver issues with the previous model of this device. I’m interested to hear if anyone has problems with it.)

It has a status link much stronger in the same position as the old dish, usually greater than 95% verus 50-60%. The receiver can also double.

I am using the same software as before, XP home SP3.

Main things I noticed are –

    1) The connection is very stable.
    2) My laptop is quieter, it does not go crazy to keep a connection.
    3) no longer need to reboot to get a connection back, as HWU8DD.
    4) With about 20 feet USB cable station, it works perfectly.

Overall, it’s like having a real connection cable Internet very robust / reliable and fast. I am totally satisfied.

If it’s like HWU8DD Hawking, make sure to put it in a waterproof container
for outdoor use. My Hawking HWU8DD rapid death due to rain real.

It is unidirectional, it is necessary to turn the dish, but I have a wireless signal receiver through the street! Compatible with Mac and PC, and it folds for easy storage. If you are looking for something that will expand your wireless reception area is the point for you. It works very well to the right of the box!

Some commentators seem to have other similar experiences.
