Do I need TWO Netgear range extender to ACTUALLY extend my wireless range?

I purchased a WGX102 Wall-Plugged Wireless Range Extender, and only that. . . Do I need the XE102 Wall-Plugged Ethernet Bridge to work the whole thing? I originally wanted only my wireless network range (I extend a Netgear WGR614 Ver. 6, Wireless G router) had, so I bought a WGX102. But I’m not so sure whether it works or not. . . . . Could someone explain to me how this whole thing?

Only one extender should be necessary. I extended my range with a similar unit made by Cisco. The installation procedure was a little tricky, as the extender and the router have to be introduced. This was all described in the manual, which I read.
