This question has been answered before.
I am assuming that you have a Westell DSL modem from Verizon.
The DSL modem is currently set in PPPoE mode (this means that it is giving out the IP addresses). This needs to be changed to the Bridge mode so that the Router gives out the IP address. The Router needs to be set to PPPoE mode.
If you are not familiar with setting up these parameters, you might be well advised to just hire someone to do this. It should only take a few minutes, but even with testing it will be perhaps a 30 minute service call. Best Buy’s Geek squad should be able to handle it.

    Bami,
Linksys is a great system, but VERY complicated. I assume that you did not purchase a Linksys wireless CARD, since I don’t see that in your description. You must follow the instructions given in the paperwork given with the Router. You have to login to the router, and make the appropriate changes to it. This isn’t a process that you can just ‘wing’ and hope that you get it right, you follow the guide given. First, connect just the router and the modem and the laptop. Leave the expander out of the equation for now. Unplug the DSL modem for about 10 minutes to reset it. Plug the modem into the router, plug the desktop into the router. Plug the modem back in. Turn on the router. This should give you connectivity with the desktop. Now turn on your Dell and enable the wireless, if needed. You should have wireless connectivity at this time. READ ALL THE LITERATURE, wireless networks are amazingly UNSECURE !!!!!!!
Learn how to secure it, and go from there.
    Good luck.
